No prior knowledge is required. This qualification is designed to enable employers to assess risk and put in place suitable control measures. This will ensure that all employees are aware of their own safety and the safety of customers, contractors and the public. It is applicable in any private or public sector environment.

Course Content

This is a 4 – 6 hour course where you will learn risk assessment procedures through practical based lectures the principles of occupational health and safety risk assessment and how to apply this in the workplace.

  • Definitions of Hazard, Risk and Danger
  • Risk identification, Assessment and Control
  • Accident Prevention
  • Quantitative and Qualitative Risk assessment techniques
  • Principles of action necessary to prevent accidents
  • Degrees of Hazard and prioritising risk
  • Use of accident data
  • Different types of risk assessment forms and documentation
  • Cost effectiveness of Risk Assessment
