Emergency First Aid

A one day certificated first aid course, formerly known as the appointed person’s course. The course syllabus is as required under the First Aid Regulations 1981.

Course Content

The course is designed to last for 6 hours and complies with the legal requirements of Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. The course consists of mainly practical work in the following areas:

  • Priorities of First Aid
  • First aid equipment
  • Duties of a First Aider
  • Actions in emergencies
  • Basic Life Support & CPR
  • The unconscious casualty
  • Treatment for wounds and bleeding
  • Fractures, dislocations, soft tissue injuries
  • Treatment for burns and scalds
  • Treatment for Shock
